Unique Retreat
- [ Fly, Graphics, Live ]
ASL worked collaboratively with a London design firm to develop the architectural and graphic components for the Unique Retreat concept. The hip airport hotel rooms are intended to provide temporary lodging for travelers who are delayed or on a long layover. The stone hotel front is a metaphorical shell for the plush interior hallways composed of warm, natural wood. Beyond the prefab wood face lies the high-tech rooms that will be manufactured offsite and contain a bed, TV, desk, and chair. The prototype unit utilizes photoelectric glass that can be switched from clear to opaque and a sliding door that responds to a numeric pin rather than requiring a key. The project is aiming for a LEED certification.
